I notice that virtualization platforms like proxmox, vmware, kvm based etc offer virtual TPMs for guests and don't seem to require a host TPM.
I imagine you could install a cut down hypervisor with vTPM support on a TPM less machine and install Win11 as a guest.

Good old supply chain attack. Makes sense. I could not see intercepting properly implemented encrypted peer-to-peer messaging would get you very far. The servers I would have thought were purely a rendezvous or switchboard service connecting peers with possibly a bit of obfuscation to limit traffic analysis. In that case subverting the servers would likely only give you traffic analysis.
If peers' messaging app was being updated from the servers you would have thought the maintenance and development would have been on a secure disconnected machine with the binaries encrypted and signed on a separate CA machine before being distributed to the internet connected servers. The app itself probably would self update first verifying the signature and using its embedded key(s) to decrypt the downloaded update.
I would imagine a single broken release would allow an adversary to circumvent any precaution.

The fiddling with numbers like 30% of tasks could be performed 50% faster makes my suspicious mind wonder if there is an element of ingenuous cherry picking. 30% of tasks? Is that by number or by time required to perform them? The 3 of the 10 tasks you perform daily might take 5 minutes which AI would reduce to 2'30". The tasks that take up 30% of your time might individually be performed in half the time but actually have dependencies on the 70% not amenable to the AI magick.
My guess is current crop of tossers running the shop envisage redefining all roles and employment generally in purely "AI friendly" terms so in their wettest of dreams if it cannot be done by AI it isn't proper valuable work.

Actually I was taken by the language Eiffel (Sather) and read all Meyer's books but it never really took off. I recall a lot language lawyering over contravariance v covariance and other nonsense on the news groups at the time which last time I looked was being channeled by Rust.
For us the OO language was Simula but none of the programming assignments had a skerick of OO so effectively just Algol coding.
I only really understood OO when I worked out how virtual functions in C++ were implemented with hints from Brad Cox's Object "Oriented Programming: An Evolutionary Approach" but I did grok generics from a Uni course that used Pascal Plus given by one of the language's creators.
Scheme was after my time but it's a decent teaching tool (I still retain my copy of Abelson and Sussman.)
