Well "volts don't matter" in this case because we are talking 400 vs 800 where... yeah you are f'd either way.
Volts do matter though when dealing with more mundane levels. "50-150mA... possible death" doesn't apply when we are talking about a AA battery held in the hand, even though they can easily deliver that current in a low resistance circuit. Does the current need to pass through skin? Clothes? Wet or dry? Path through body matters too - from one hand to the other via the torso? Very bad. Or from hand to feet in a grounding scenario? Also bad. Both contacts touching a single hand though? Maybe burns but unlikely to cause any heart issue.
