UK border tech budget swells by £100M as Home Office targets small boat crossings

tell them about how to select windows at startup if they have any problems

HSBC app takes a dim view of sideloaded Bitwarden installations

harrys Bronze badge

been using bitwarden for years, but.....

they should not have the autofill feature enabled by default .... its an attack vector that is too dangerous for something holding such valuable info

also go to your settings online and enable some of the highest crypto stuff on your cloud stored wallet, so if the bitwarden site gets hacked your wallet would take centuries to decrypt (lastpass wallets are prob still being decrypted way after their leak)

ps u are using a strong inconveniant master password, yes???

But above all you wont have to hide your occupation from professional fellow IT bro's, they will look at you with envy instead of an "uncomfortable silence" :)

Recession.... a natural process that even fiat currencies can't beat.. and needed at least once in every generation to bring a dose of reality to hubristic big heads

harrys Bronze badge

Xero to start charging developers API usage fees, replacing revenue share deals

harrys Bronze badge

API's

Means your essentially just someones bitch (unless their is a locally hosted option), mostly evident once someone new comes in to the board with a remit to generate additional revenue etc etc etc

I'd look closely at any recent changes in xeros financial statements on where the future is going

If the only product/service you offer is to your zero customers via the API your essentially just a xero employee with non of the employee benefits

Fired techie admits sabotaging ex-employer, causing $862K in damage

harrys Bronze badge

this happens because in larger companies

peoples these days see work as a lifestyle not a shite necessary activity

the clever ones know this and just pretend to be part of the "work family"

the foolish ones actually believe its true

in reality no one should trust anyone in the workplace and put in adequate systems, whilst trying to hide this fact from the fools without upsetting them too much.

Also you can get more work out the fools for less as long as you can sustain their delusion :)

then their are the super morons who open up WAN access to their firewalls, especially these crap ones... surprisingly a lotta of them about
