DEI

I'll let you in on a secret - DEI isn't a 'issue' anywhere, except where the right think too many people who aren't white, straight or men are getting jobs.

Re: Where will the Nazi firehose algorithm be turned on next?

Some other issues with Threads are:

that you can ONLY get posts via the algorithm. There is no option to see a timeline of the people you follow, in chronological order

You can't post links, so it's useless for promotion. That's one reason why loads & loads of writers are on Bluesky, because they can actively promote their work.

Weren't the 'Twitter Files' thoroughly debunked? And in some cases the data they had proved the exact opposite of what was claimed by the likes of Taibbi?

I'm curious. Why do you want to hang around and chat to Nazis and fascists?

Echo Chambers

Just because Bluesky actively rejects Nazis and the more reactionary right-wing posters, and the nuclear block function is excellent at shutting down any attempt to troll, doesn't make it an 'echo chamber'.

In fact, the lack of Elon fanboys (*cough*) and Trump worshippers makes life a lot more pleasant. You can actually have a discussion with people and find out new ideas.

Not everything had to be a conflict or a fight.

Re: Will your right to object be effective?

I'm in the UK and I just put "don't use my data" and 5mins later got confirmation of being removed from the training data. It's been the same for everyone else I've spoken to about it.
