Weekends were a mistake, says Infosys co-founder Narayama Murthy

Hot Air

Right. Take a few billion he has and directly improve the quality of life of his people and stop living like a King and I believe. Otherwise, I'll continue to work my 120 hours per week because I work for myself and enjoy it.

Here's a NIS2 compliance checklist since no one cares about deadlines anymore

Re: Determine whether your organization is in NIS2's scope, How?

All is true but I think the real goal of these regulations, as they have been implemented, is to eliminate small to medium business entities. As for the larger firms, who benefit from the elimination of the smaller, they increase their prices, claim compliance, and when they as standard operating procedure technically fail all compliance in reality, they get a pass from penalties from the "authorities". Sounds like the USA. In the end NIS1 and NIS2 are ill conceived, and overtly complex with vagueness. Sounds like they are not compliant themselves in the very rules they intend to enforce. SOP = FAIL.

Re: An unfortunate necessity

Total Baloney-- These threats have been known since at least the early 1980's. The money has always been there, most by systems design, and programmer job security. I know, I've had intense arguments regarding the holes since then, and like clockwork, less than a decade later whatever specific concern or argument I presented becomes the next IT crisis. Focus on smaller teams and Management who actually cares with Executive approval. I doubt things will really change on a National level, unless and until, you get several more CloudStrike events. Expect 95 percent to claim they are doing something and effectively do nothing or marginal response, and 5 percent for effective security.

Begun, the open source AI wars have

It's irreverent if you can "afford" generating data from training. Having access to the raw assets to perform is absolutely critical. It provides the ability to do so. Considering the high rate of fraud and fake claims I'd think everyone would require as much Level 1 Open Source as possible. How many people actually compile their Linux source code? But it is available if you need it.

Disney claims agreeing to Disney+ terms waives man's right to sue over wife's death

Re: This should be good

The menu change says it all "cast member" meaning Disney is dictating what happens in all of the business units, owned or not by Disney, on Disney property. Disney is guilty. Pay up. In total transparency, I've done business with these guys and they are total bottom feeders.

The term you are seeking to describe your comment regarding the USA is CORRUPTION, the destroyer of everything.
