Trump thinks we can make iPhones in the US just like China. Yeah, right

Re: Trump doesn't think

Have you actually compared rates of gun ownership with rates of violent crime? There is no correlation, let alone causation.

You are NOT a freeloader. That being said, if we want these things to be available, we should consider giving a few dollars. The only thing I have given money to in the past year is $20 to MX Linux. Not much, but if 1000 people in the entire world gave that, we would be talking about something. 10,000 would be better. We have to start somewhere :)

I disagree. I have worked in politics. If you have already made the decision to keep Kahn, take the money. Otherwise, don't. The foolish donor has made sure their donation will have no impact on the decision by making their desires public.

Re: It's the only way to be sure.

What happens is up to us.

Either enough people give time and/or money to the alternatives, or we are screwed.

Example: I just donated $10 to MX Linux. It's not much, but it is probably more than I should afford right now.

The is the OS I am using to put up this post.

I can't program, but this is what I can do. I need to try and do more.

Re: So let me get this straight.

OK. Upgrades are free. So what??? At some point your hardware will not run the new OS and you will have to buy a new computer with Windows, or buy a stand alone copy for your own hardware. Microsoft gets paid. Don't believe it? Shop Dell systems that offer Linux as an OS option. They are around $90 cheaper. That's the cost of Windows. Eventually, everybody pays......

Re: Oh, Ubuntu. Where did it go wrong!

Just took an old desktop(server) and installed latest version of MX Linux. Starting to love it. Still getting used to Xfce, as the last linux I used was Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, but the more I use it, the more I like it SSD and RAM upgrade has it running like a champ. Had a few teething problems, but nothing big. I think this is my goto for now. :)
