Containers, cloud, blockchain, AI – it's all the same old BS, says veteran Red Hatter

This constant reinvention of the wheel by the marketing creatures is tiresome.

Nobody hear of the Mainframe? IBM has been doing all of this stuff, with the exception of containers since the 70's.

I have no shares in IBM - just experience and conviction.

Have an M1 and M2 Mini both running Asahi/Debian(testing) and XFCE. Will stay that way, do not need the fedora/kde bloat/bling.

Re: Oh, Ubuntu. Where did it go wrong!

Too top-heavy and bloated, as always. Too much bling as in Fedora also. Running Debian Trixie (Asahi) on M1/M2 Minis with XFCE. No complaints.

Being a bit of a minimalist, I am convinced that Debian and XFCE is right for me.

I find KDE and Fedora to boot, is too top-heavy. I have no need for the bling, BTRFS and eye-candy - ugh.

Running M1 and M2 Minis on Asahi Linux.

My opinions are my own, of course.
