Survey finds that four in five enterprise endpoints could run Windows 11

EAK-TREG
WTF?

Microsoft Windows Program Manager stated WIn10 would be the last major revision.

Are you saying there will be no more versions of Windows after Windows 10?

Microsoft is moving Windows to a servicing model with Windows 10. The days of major revisions or what are called big bang releases are no more. As Microsoft Program Manager for Windows Terry Myerson described it:

This is more than a one-time upgrade: once a Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, we will continue to keep it current for the supported lifetime of the device – at no additional charge. With Windows 10, the experience will evolve and get even better over time. We’ll deliver new features when they’re ready, not waiting for the next major release. We think of Windows as a Service – in fact, one could reasonably think of Windows in the next couple of years as one of the largest Internet services on the planet.

And just like any Internet service, the idea of asking "What version are you on?" will cease to make sense – which is great news for our Windows developers.

My enterprise is already moving towards Win11 but Ive got 3 8 core 64GB ram desktops at home that cant run WIn11 because they dont have the encryption chip. Im planning to go Linux. Hasta la bye-bye.

Keir Starmer says facial recognition tech is the answer to far-right riots

How about an answeer to the FAR LEFT riots?

I mean I havent seen the far right taking entire cities hostage, burning down stores, businesses and postoffices, trying to light police stations of fire, robbing and looting, setting vehicles on fire, defacing historical landmarks, tearing down statues, and patrolling their captured territory armed with guns. But Ive seen BLM, Antifa and the far left do all of these things on multiple occaisions. Why are their scores of legal proceedings for the J6 participants but they never seem to have this geofencing cellular data, facial recognition and other evidence for the widely reported and telivised far left riots?

Atlassian softens its cloud-first approach for remaining on-prem customers

Stop

Concentrate on securing Enterprise customers!

Atlassian products need to support both encryption in flight and data encryption at rest within the on-premise products. They support HTTPS/TLS 1.2/1,.3 to the GUI but they do not support TLS encrypted dtaabase connections and they do not support database encryption at rest. This is a MAJOR product shortcoming.

Want to keep Windows 10 secure? This is how much Microsoft will charge you

Im not replacing an 8 core 32GB, full NVME disk system to get Windows 11

An 8 core, 3.6Ghz CPU with 32GB ram and a 1TB NVME disk is a smoking fast machine. Im not buying new hardware to get Windows 11 when the hardware encryption CPU is the roadblock requirement. My home will be converting to a Linux based distribution. It will run faster, will be supported for at least 5-10 more years and Libre/open office will do everything I need as a home user.

Goodbye Microsoft.

P.S. Ill be telling every family member that this is my plan and don't call me for Microsoft OS or application support any more. Im leaving that world. If you want to pay for me to come back up your data and convert you to a free OS and application suite, Im more than happy to do so.

Ive also told my company that Im more than willing to use Linux on my work desktop as well.

Chinese Nationals working in the US

If you are of Chinese decent, you travel to and from the PRC while currently living in the US and you are working for a company in the US, what is the probability that person is an agent of the PRC?

Chinese citizens can apply to the public security organs of the city or county where they are registered to leave the country for private reasons.

Approval is granted unless there are exceptions.

According to migrationpolicy.org, the Chinese diaspora in the United States is the ninth largest in the country and is made up of around 5.4 million people.

This includes people who were born in China, Hong Kong, or Macao, or who have Chinese ancestry or race.

According to CNN, Chinese nationals are one of the largest groups of successful asylum seekers in the US.

In 2022, nearly 13% of people granted asylum came from China, which is just over 4,500 people.

Between 2 and 3 million people travel to/from the PRC to the USA every year.

In March 2023, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) based in Washington DC published an updated Survey of Chinese Espionage in the United States Since 2000, which includes 224 documented cases of Chinese espionage targeted at the United States as of February 2023.[277] The list of cases is based on publicly accessible sources and CSIS believes it is likely incomplete.[277] According to CSIS, Chinese intelligence in the United States surpasses any other nation, including Russia.[277] While the economic and technological espionage costs the United States billions of dollars, Chinese espionage has also resulted in immeasurable harm to national security, particularly through the theft of weapon technology, including data related to nuclear weapons testing.[277] CSIS observed that in recent years, China has expanded its espionage efforts to include the theft of substantial amounts of personal information (PII), political manipulation, and influence operations.[277]

I believe EVERY Fortune 500 company in the USA has 1 ore more Chinese National currently employed and feeding information to the PRC. I know there were a large number working at a German Automotive in the USA that all regularly traveled to/from the PRC. Interesting that the PRC is suddenly developing clean diesel technology (just like the German automotive): https://theicct.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/China-clean-diesel-III_final.pdf

Tesla's Cybertruck may not be so stainless after all

As a 25 year stainless steel appliance owner...

As a 25 year stainless steel appliance owner, stainless requires constant maintenance. Anyone stupi, er rich enough to buy a Cyber truck should invest in:

1) Pay a automotive maint shop to clear coat it

2) Then pay to have in Ceramic coated

3) Expect to re-ceramic coat it every 3-5 years depending upon your climate, # of car washes, etc

What moron though untreated stainless would be a great vehicle material?

Uncle Sam wants to make it clear that America's elections are very, very safe

B.S. Unless....

1) None of the devices are accessible from the internet - we know this is true from 2016 and 2020 for live poll results feeds

2) They have confirmed NONE of the devices are still using default admin credentials - Over 100 internet connected devices still had default admin credentials during 2020

3) They have removed all direct database access - this was identified as an issue in both 2016 and 2020

4) They do not have ANY 3rd party access into ANY US voting machines. This was identified in 2016 and 2020.

Unless they confirm that NONE of these 4 are now true, then the US elections are not only insecure, they are already compromised.

And the winner of the horrible Microsoft Paint sweater is ...
