This was all rubber-stamped in 2019,by Kit Malthouse, then juniour HO Minister. I say rubber-stamped, because the HO did exectly what they were going to do anyway. The HO does what it wants, always has done.Has now been rogue Off- Piste for several years. At the same time, compiling a crude 'not a data base' of personal details, insecurely held and unmanaged, would be highly illegal, if it were anyone else. The 'stored' data cannot be easily perused for Law Enforcement purposes, because it's still in crude email form. All makes the collection and insecure holding of this data, doubly illegal. Serves no purpose whatsoever, beyond serving the egos of an out of control department. Looks like no update to add anything further..

4 years on, any update on what the Home Office is now doing with the data, to manage, hold and store it ? What progress has the HO made, to be secure and data management compliant ?
