The trust I work at is spending over £100m on a new patient record system, it will link in with other nearby hospitals who will use the same system enabling 'seamless' patient data access across the region.

The only problem is that certain departments within the trust have been allowed to opt out.

It's this attitude that will ensure whatever framework is put in, the benefits of it are likely to be squandered regardless.

Agencies/consultants/project advisories eat up millions every year, costs are often obfuscated ensuring no-one is entirely sure where or what the money was spent on.

'Gamifying' is what they called it, apparently it was a selling point for the system our management decided upon.

It was turned on but I don't believe anyone ever took it seriously because realistically, how can you as adults.

Trying to restrict access can only be achieved successfully on a draconian level.

I know for a fact that 'the youth' are more than well versed in VPN's & proxies to bypass standard restrictions and only the lazy or quickly bored young person will be prevented from accessing whatever they want.

I mean, the scaremongering that is going on around AI, bloody Jim Cameron has a lot to answer for here.

Safety measures put in place are not going to stop anyone using AI with malicious intent, we only have to look at the proliferation of trojans and viruses over the years to see that people will do that regardless.
