Re: System76 seem to be a World USA company

A Linux customer of mine* I recently bought a laptop from https://laptopwithlinux.com - tons of options for what version of Linux, etc.

Clevo and TongFang (who they?) laptops available.

I have no connection to these guys apart from setting up the laptop.

I did see her say that some of the QAnon conspiracy things she'd see on the internet were wrong - https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/marjorie-taylor-greene-qanon-internet-quote/

So even she had to admit a some of the things she'd read and ran with were batshit. Absolutely no excuse for it if she had any sort of intelligence - which she obviously doesn't.

Frunk or froot?

US = front trunk

UK = front boot

The opening from a famous British sit-com, change some words to make it fit better - 'arrest' to whatever happens to a company. 'Imprisonment' to 'a fine', 'term' also to 'fine'. 'Prison for five years' to '10% of global profits' - or whatever is the maximum fine available.

"You are an habitual criminal, who accepts arrest as an occupational hazard, and presumably accepts imprisonment in the same casual manner. We therefore feel constrained to commit you to the maximum term allowed for these offences; you will go to prison for five years."

Windows 12 fan fiction shows how Microsoft might ladle AI into the OS

Linux

. . . making Windows Search work properly

I remember that animated dog in Win98 (or was it XP?), I also remember saying to people that if MS had spent more time on getting search to work properly instead of that crappy dog things would be a lot better. That dog might have been there to distract us from the POS that searching in Windows was. 20+ years and search on Windows is still crap - not that know or care these days.

I pretty much gave up using Windows after XP, played with Vista and 7 but by that time I was using Linux* nearly all the time.

Re: You can trust me ...

Rudy, or anyone else with the files from 'the laptop from hell' could have put them somewhere and pointed us to them but they have nothing, just 'a lot of theories', no real evidence. If there was we would know about it. The 'internet' (Facebook, or was it Twitter?) hid the Hunter laptop references for 24 hours - and still Trump lost. He would have lost in 2016 if it hadn't been for his election interference re. 'crooked' Hilary's email problem. If you turn Trump's words around 180 degrees that's a more accurate view. A good proportion of politicians are not so good (for whatever reason), but Trump is not a politician, he's just a snake oil salesman BSer. I wonder if he's able to hypnotise people, there has to be some reason his supporters can't see through the BS he spouts.

I love that footage of Trump and Epstein at some club or other checking out the talent. In my mind there's no doubt Trump is coked up or something.
