Judge tosses publishers' copyright suit against OpenAI

The difference is that since slavery was made illegal, you can't sell the kids containing memorized copies of the books.

And even if you made them write down from memory the book, you couldn't sell that copy without breaching copyright (even if it contained errors).

It's still sad how much UI regression you have to accept to be able to access the security and performance improvements.

Even with windows 10, the amount of 3rd party software you need to make the UI even close to as pleasant as win7 was by default, eats away a lot of the performance improvements.

And whether security got better in total is also very questionable, when windows itself sends telemetry, force installs unwanted feature updates and software, has ads in the OS start menu, and generally behaves like malware...

Re: Am I reading this right?

If *my* browser auctions something off, then *I* should be paid for it. Why the hell should websites get money for lowering their value to visitors?

If making free websites really is the problem, we need a system where readers can simply share adequate storage spacetime (eg. 1MB*s per site, with up to 2MB max data usage, or something similar) to crowd host the data. Anyone who has spare disk/network capacity could donate it to websites they like. And nobody would have to suffer ads.

there wouldn't necessarily be fewer billionaires - there would just be less correlation between who's rich now, and who gets to make money in the future.
