Jackie 'You have no authority here' Weaver calls on the UK to extend Coronavirus Act provisions for online meetings

Country broadband

A frustration here is that our part of rural Devon has cr@p broadband. Virtual meetings mean many of us cannot attend, or can only attend each meeting intermittently (while the broadband works before contention drops the speed too low). The parish council is then only for the “haves” not the “have nots” and just adds to the divisiveness. Our broadband speed stops zoom and its reliability makes online ordering slow and full of retries.

And to register our complaint or add our input to the government survey of poor rural broadband - what must you do? Go to a web page!!

To be eaten at altitude breathing recycled air

I thought these meals, like the drinks, were designed for consumption at altitude — lower air pressure, artificially heated air — which effects the taste buds. Did you consider going up in a balloon, or to the top of a mountain, to get the right flavour?

Jobs hits London to announce O2 iPhone deal

Chocolate teapot

According to Apple's support site, the iPhone needs either an EDGE connection or WiFi for internet or mail access. No WiFi or EDGE, no e-mail or web.

Even with a deal with "the cloud" their nearest public WiFi to me is 12 miles away.

Guess what, O2 won't tell anyone if there is any EDGE coverage, let alone where it is. The only reason I can think of is that they don't cover much of the country. So buy an iPhone and get no mail or internet?

Sounds as useful as a chocolate teapot. Of course, it's a very pretty teapot!
