United Airlines’ patience with Boeing is maxed out after repeated safety issues

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Building a plane is really complex, what makes you think COMAC can do an y better in terms of QA ?

Just look at all the tofu cars and buildings, china is plagued with them. Just the other week one of their new warships also burnt to a crisp.

Why would anyone continue to buy and trust a product from a company built on bullshit ?

France fines Amazon €32M for watching staff so much they'd have to 'justify each break'

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Amazon....

Said it before will say it again...

If you need to say something to the public, the more you say it the more untrue it becomes.

Basically every advertisement especially today is bullshit and lies in the literal sense of the word.

By advertising AMZN the very points they are trying to make are acutally the opposite in reality, just like all other ads.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Forget the fines, the governments of the world need to jail the management who make these decisions.

Microsoft hires energy mavericks in quest for nuclear-powered datacenters

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

You still didnt address the point why hiring skilled nuclear engineers who actually make it work and safe is not news ?

You do believe in merit and valuing actual REAL SCIENTIFIC work over bullshit talking ?

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Why is it news if a company hires a director ?

If companies only hired directors they would have nothing but a big compensation bill ?

Where is the news for hiring the actual skilled people who do the real work instead of management aka bullshit talkers ?

Russia takes $13.5M bite out of Apple over in-app purchases

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Im more perplexed why you cant see the problem with Apple not bricking ALL phones in Russia.

Hey this is America, where money trumps everything else, including human lives.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Well done Apple, that'll go straight onto tanks and ammo.

Why the hell are Apple supporting Russia in anyway. They should be doing everything they can to disable the Russian war machine and if that means bricking every iphone in Russia, then they should do that.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

It wont end the war but it will help drive the message to the people.

double: Paying the fine will, but most iPhones are in the hands of consumers, not government leaders who have their own phone system, at least purportedly, and could easily switch them out at little cost.

cow: Im pretty sure that iphones are being used by Russian commands and troops in Ukraine and probably other military and political leaders in other parts of Russia. If this helps add confusion or whatever and then thats a good enough reason.

Knowing Russia and their lack of equipment because of their corruption and theft problem, i wouldnt be surprised that there are many soldiers who dont have a radio or other military communication device, which leaves basically iphones and google powered phones.

Google and Apple should be bricking all the phones in Russia that they can.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: By paying the fines...

Apple should be bricking their phones.

THey need to remember whose side of the war they are on.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

The US government should jail Apple executives for continuing to do business in Russia.

Apple should send an update which makes the phone brick in on a future date, it wont get all phones but it will get enough.

That will help kill the Russian war machine and save many lives in the war.

Stripe commuters swap traffic jams for hydrofoil glam

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: 'Smooth and chop free'

A hydrofoil with deeper faoils that are completely under the waves does not suffer the bumps when the sea is angry. The US military worked thru this with their ocean hydrofoil programs in the 60s.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: 'Smooth and chop free'

Yes Fairlight and her sisters were cool, but it gets tiring to waste 10 hours a week commuting. There are better things to do with your life.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Maybe its me but i wouldnt pay a commuting tax of 2 hours of my life just for a slice of bread.

WHy not move offices to the ferry point with the most employees that would save considerable time for them and probably save money on an office in a more costly premises ?

Bullshit.

Australia is many times more free than USA.

For example freedom from regular gun massacres, free healthcare, freedom from unqualified job dismissal.

Perhaps you are but if you most people here are very much brainwashed into worshipping ceos. Just look bad mouth or point out how useless all ceos are, and everybody cries about it.

Roopee: but I don't see how you came to that conclusion in this case?

cow: Lets focus on s/w companies to make this simple:

Could Balmer actually code ?

Can Ellison code ?

R: It certainly wasn't in the article, and as has been pointed out, the CEO did step in for a bit of reputational damage-limitation...

c: Its a basic fact, that most and i mean over 90% of HR people cant actually do any non HR jobs at their own companies.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

re: Lord

Big words considering your entire reply is insults. How about you actually address points i made...

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

HR is part of the problem. Staff such as HR and mamangement who basically do nothing all day, simply make the balance of company wrong. Having that many staff costs the company too much money and this in turn makes upper management fire or lay off staff from the wrong group, eg they keep the parasitic do nothing no skills staff like HR or management and fire the people who do the real work that actually counts.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

I would take the one that doesnt require me to come into the office ever.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

All management staff are not your friend. THey are nothing but parasites who do basically nothing and want far more than they are worth.

Which makes glasshouse approval ratings of the glorious ceos for every company all that more cultish.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Severance

Actally that isnt true. Leaders can go but they are the only one who get a bonus.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Khap: Some leaders are bad but not all, don't be fooled by the media and the hype that communism works, it doesn't , history had shown us all too often that it brings everyone down to the lowest level and I have yet to see proof of the contrary.

cow: Communism ?

What has communism got to do with my comment.Wht tyu dont appreciate is communism failed because of leadership. Morons at the top who sacrifice everyone else with their stupid directions and ideas.

THis is the same as with most businesses, leadership always want more bonuses for themselves and along with their bad decisions and ideas, means mistakes are made and creates bad will and conditions for the real workers who do the real vital work.

Stop worshipping your corporate overlords, they dont like or care about you... youa re just a body for them in their quest for selfish greed.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Im still waiting for someone in America to sue their family company for discrimination for the unequal pay and treatment of workers compared to leadership.

Then again i guess Americans after the many years of media brainwashing cant grasp there is inequality within companies of their ledership and staff.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

No.

They need everyone to work 6d and 70hrs because thats how the money is found for executives at the top to get MORe bonuses every year.

Wake up sunshine, the worsst tax on all compamies is their leadership.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Wow an executive who takes credit for the work of others with her own charts, graphs and words of bullshit, got gamed by the executives above her and she thinks thats unfair.

Why doesnt she complain abou thte fact she is credited and paid more than the staff below her who actually do the tangible REAL work ?

I always trust those golden circle stickers with QA printed on them.

I guess only the chinese do proper QA, because ive never seen those stickers on western products.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Shameful

China has almost never surpassed the west in anything.

The only products i can think of are DJI cameras and drones, they are the best in the world.

Everything else they just copy, work hard and make it for less. Given the size of China they should be world leaders in more than just drones.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: maybe urban legend

These were bolts, i dont think they have any thread for loctite.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Loctite

The software did fail, the software im referring to is not MCAS or any onboard flight system im referring to their quality control softeare is they have any.

Surely they have something that includes all parts along with when its due to be installed/wired etc and who verified said job was completed properly. How could a plg door with no bolts get passed any QA process ?

All true, but Windows is magnitudes more complex than any single or even all Atlassian products.

Qualcomm CEO's pay jumps 395% in slow year for phone chips

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Microsoft prices new Copilots for individuals and small biz vastly higher than M365 alone

Re: Hourly rate

...and you know so much, the besst you can do is call someone names.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Of course not, only idiots wuld believe in co-pilot or any other AI

No you are an. idiot because in the case you shared, copilot is using public information to answer your questions.

Of course it can answer those questions but it cant answer what is your colour is your t-shirt because it has no way of knowing and tahts my point.

Its not a q of intelligence of co=pilot its simply because it has no way of knowing outside what you have typed about your personal circumstances so it cant answer personal questions.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Hourly rate

Wow,

what makes you think co-pilot is of any positive value ?

Did microsoft just fire half their professionals and replac ethem with copilot ?

Of course not, only idiots wuld believe in co-pilot or any other AI.

Even a smart human would not be able to help any random person from the public on any personal or work question simply because they dont have enough information to help. So even if co-pilot did work, theres no way it could answer questions about you because it doesnt know you.

Open source licenses need to leave the 1980s and evolve to deal with AI

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

This is stupid.

Co-pilot will neve rwork for the simple reason it has no context.

Eg it doesnt know the goal of the work, because it has no access to documents and has never talked or heard from others in the business so how would it know.

Its the same reason a new person off the street, even if they are super smart and is given a computer has no idea what needs to be done or what should be improved or fixed.

The best co=pilot can do is guess basic stuff and nothing more.
