Commodore failed because they took too long to improve the Amiga and the updates were minimal. If theres one thing we always see, everything doubles in power or performance very quickly, the amiga didnt move for nearly 10 years and by then even the a600/a1200 were so far behind other machines it was sad.

Boom Supersonic takes baby steps toward breaking the sound barrier

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Flying at 430kmh is not proof of anything except that the design can fly at a speed significantly under the speed of sound. Planes from WW2 alsoflew this speed, and nobody is pretending they are supersonic designs.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Basically anyone today can make a plane fly 430km/h, thats barely any different compared to a pisto plane like the spitfire etc.

Fucking idiots, you are pretending that a plane slower than a WW2 plane is supersonic...

You are making a lot of assumptions that companies do the right thing most of the time. I think this clearly shows they dont actually reason or select providers because of a careful study, its just a bunch of idiots copying everyone else instead of understanding the problemspace.

THis is a perfect example of why todays corporate leaders are not leaders but merely idiots who copy trends. They dont actually understand the problems of security or anything, they just *copy*.

Telegram founder and CEO arrested in France

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

FAC: Have you even *read* the articles you are quoting or did you just pick up the first results of your search?

Cow: I read them...

Learn to quote...befor eyou open your mouth.

FAC: The second one even dismisses some BS by the Italian Prime Minister about the CFA

cow: My second link is a BBC article.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-66406137

This article does not mention Italy or Italian words in any form. Its almost like you dont know how to quote or count 1, 2.

It clearly shows angry africans who dislike France for what they did in the past and what they understand today. The article also mentions that France controls the CFA.

> Seven of the nine Francophone states in West Africa still use the CFA franc, which is pegged to the euro and guaranteed by France, as their currency, a legacy of French economic policy towards its colonies.

> France also forged defence agreements that saw it regularly intervene militarily on behalf of unpopular pro-French leaders to keep them in power.

DO you think this could be cause of protests etc ?

Grow a brain FR is exploting these countries, the locals see this, they dont like it, and they are protesting. FR is of course installing leaders for their own economic advantage.

FAC: Re: the troops, they were there to try and fight terrorists so as to avoid an influx of refugees in France/Europe. The local governments have decided that Wagner would do a better job (at the expense of the civil population), so they asked the French to leave, which they did, although reluctantly. We'll see how it goes in a few years.

cow: French troops have been in Africa for over 50 years as necessary for FR to impose its will on those countries. The locals dont like this, and they dont like what FR has done to interfere with their countries during this time. Its not only about terrorists, you are cherry picking and ignoring 50+ years of FR interference.

These are the actions of a military force protecting their assets. Notice there are many problems in Africa, FR limits itself to its former colonies, it does not interfere in many other places that are equally poor and troubled.

Re: "It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform."

JITF The CEO may well be responsible, but that doesn’t make it a criminal offence.

cow: Yeh helping the Russian state is not an offense. He is actively helping Putin thats a war crime... thats why Telegram is and continues to be able to do business. Its also the reason why Telegram is being activelys supported by Putin and his media.

Go read Russian media headlines, they are crying because T is helpful for them. THey dont cry for ordinary Russians, they are sacrificing them by the thousands in Ukraine.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

FAC: THere have been riots, mass demonstrations and even civil wars about this for years.

cow: Dozens of news stories about what im saying...

google: french west africa protests

https://www.institutmontaigne.org/en/expressions/anti-french-sentiment-west-africa-reflection-authoritarian-confrontation-collective-west

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-66406137

FAC: The fact is, this system is entirely voluntary for the member countries, they can join and leave whenever they want. Some have left and rejoined, so they must have seen a benefit after all.

cow: Nonsense. The FR have troops there for a reason, they arent doing it for nothing, they are clearly getting an advantage from this. Wagner is trying to take this for themselves, and this is what is pissing off FR.

The FR arent there for nothing.

Re: Way more to this than it seems

Wow you are really simple if you think this is the first time Durov tried to meet Putin. Also you really should be asking yourself how a platform with no visible form of income and yet he is a billionaire and allowed to operate in Russia when so many others are banned.

Doesnt take a genius to figure out he is number 1 and supported by Russia not because he is Russian but because he is a tool of Putin.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Some questions left unanswered

So what if they did ?

What exactly does a statement by the state media of a former Soviet country actually mean ?

Integrity ? Truth ?

Pavel might not have met Putin but he probably still had the meeting he needed to have with someone else to get his instructions.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Some questions left unanswered

Lets face the facts, Rich Russians always live in the west, even Putins daughter lives in Munich. He popped into Azerb for a quick chat with Putin which didnt happen and so left and went back to the west.

THere is no fleeing, its just standard way Russian oligarchs live and work.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Some questions left unanswered

THere is a real history of Durov helping the Putin regime. Ordinary people just dont fly in and request an audience with Putin, this shows there is a real relationship and the fact Telegram operates in RUssia also confirms this.

Only an idiot would think otherwise.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Yes it does.

France controls the currency for a dozen African countries. THere have been riots, mass demonstrations and even civil wars about this for years.

Just: There is no Rule of Law in France any more.

Re: Some questions left unanswered

Pretty obvious Durov is a Putin stooge or "helper"...connect the dots...

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Re: Some questions left unanswered

Most people are idiots. The Navalny thing was a token event, the big picture is T is a very important platform for the Russian government. THe Russian army is actively using it as their communication platform in Ukraine, and you can be sure its also routing all chats to the Russian government so they can "watch" and "listen" if any Ukrainian is stupid enough to use it on the front line.

CowHorseFrog Silver badge

Its amazing how many have not asked the question, why is Telegram allowed in Russia. Simple answer is Telegram is helping Putin, if it wasnt it would have been banned or limited. The French are of course fighting a proxy war against Russia via the Wagner group in their current colonial empire in Africa. THe French of course consider Pavel a bit too helpful to their opponents the Russians and thats why he has been arrested.

cliff: Do you people EVER think about the ramifications of your ideas and the destruction they can cause?

cow: yes i do, i always give examples of the positive benefits and how they help the masses.

cliff:If your idea existed 20 years ago I would not have the job I have today. Working for great company

cow: Like all aresholes you fail to appreciate the greater good for the masses, all you think about is yourself. You would have a job somewhere else, no big deal.

cliff: The ones that are, are doing very well here now, providing quality jobs for over 6000 employees!

cow: What next you want to complain that cigarette advertising should be allowed because it provides jobs and who gives a shite about the millions who die miserable deaths from lung cancer ?
