mature has become a bad thing

It seems lately I keep seeing more and more decisions being made about whether to use a project based on its commit rate. It's as if being "mature" has become a bad thing. I would always prefer to use something that is stable than something that keeps changing. My favorite example is xorg. No changes in a decade? Great! Wayland still in flux after a decade? Not for me thanks.

Re: Excitement

Because it's about 5x faster than I can get here in rural Arizona at any price. I would LOVE 100 MBps.

Re: Data

Wow, you really got hammered but I agree with you. Just practice safe surfing, that’s life now. Sure, I know my usage patterns and equipment signatures are being saved and crunched but it doesn’t bother me at all. If I want privacy I use old-school or air gap but that’s very rare.

I'll stick with port

I've had several interactions with Brew folks and they have been real *ass h*oles. They hate feedback and suggestions. Basically they take the view they know more about what I want/need than I do.

water softener??

My 20 year old water softener needed a valve replaced that was leaking slightly. When the tech was here I asked what was new in the field. He said everything now is controlled from a smart phone app. For a WATER SOFTENER?? AND they now cost about 3x what I paid, even after adjusting for inflation. Well nuts to that, I'm probably now good for another 20 years.
