Apple says it will no longer punish those daring to repair their iPhone 13 screens

Robert22alen

Here are a couple of ways to check if the parts used in your iPhone repair were original or fake:-

1. Check the Parts and Service History (iOS 15.2 and later):-

-Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

-Tap on General and then About.

-Look for a section called Parts and Service History.

If your iPhone has been repaired, it will show either:-

-Genuine Apple Part next to the replaced component (battery, display, camera, etc.). This indicates Apple or an authorized service provider performed the repair using original parts.

-Unknown Part. This means the repair wasn't done by Apple or an authorized service provider, and the part's origin is unknown.

2. Look for Warning Messages (iOS 14.1 and later):-

-In some cases, your iPhone might display a warning message on the lock screen or in the Settings app if a critical component like the camera or display isn't genuine.

-The message might say something like "Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple [part name]."

Apple says sorry for Siri slurping voice commands of unsuspecting users

Here are three ways to stop Siri from randomly activating on your Apple Watch:-

1. Disable "Listen for Hey Siri":- This is the most common culprit for accidental Siri activation. Here's how to turn it off:-

-Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

-Tap on Siri.

-Toggle off the switch next to "Listen for Hey Siri".

2. Disable "Raise to Speak":- This feature activates Siri when you raise your wrist and speak. If you find it triggers Siri unintentionally, you can turn it off:-

-Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

-Tap on Siri.

-Toggle off the switch next to "Raise to Speak".

3. Disable "Press Digital Crown":- This option launches Siri with a long press of the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch. If you accidentally press it often, consider disabling it:-

-Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

-Tap on Siri.

-Toggle off the switch next to "Press Digital Crown".

Alternative:- You can also completely turn off Siri on your Apple Watch:-

-Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

-Tap on Siri.

-Scroll down and tap "Turn Off Siri".

Re: felt the same about the Quest 3

I searched on every forum on internet and eventually end up fixing this by changing the speed and distance units displayed on your Apple Watch by adjusting the settings within the Workout app. Here's how:-

1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

2. Scroll down and tap on Workout.

3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Workout settings menu.

4. Tap on Units of Measure.

5. You'll see two options: Miles (mi) and Kilometers (km). Choose the unit you prefer for both speed and distance.

Re: Scrabble Players?! OMG!!

Well, I can tell you the kind we DON’T like: the loudmouthed, boastful, sneaky type who plays psychological games to intimidate opponents and laments loudly about losses and bad luck, which are, of course, an integral part of the game. Fortunately, that being said, most people who play, even at the top level, are nothing like that, and are there for the love of the game. They are solid, down-to-earth folks who just happen to have this one quirk.
