JPMorgan Chase sues scammers following viral 'infinite money glitch'

Banks are just fine with wire fraud when they are making profits on the back of it

I have experienced wire fraud when I was a BofA customer. Their attitude was "Somebody stole $300K USD from you - that's entirely your problem". Idem for the so-called "Law enforcement community".

My suspicion is one reason why the banks don't give a damn about wire fraud is because the fraudsters are also their paying customers. Did anyone ever see these banks release figures on what percentage of the money they have in their accounts is stolen money, obtained via wire fraud ? I imagine that these fraudsters are also a good source of profit for the major banks, who are keen to keep any customer, no matter where the money in their account came from......

Microsoft, Google do a victory lap around passkeys

I recently GOT TOTALLY HACKED OFF with my android phone listening to everything I said and then giving me "helpful" lifestyle suggestions related to certain confidential conversations I had. Hence I switched off as much as possible all tracking and cookies etc.

The result of this has been very positive overall due to:-

1. I don't find myself visiting websites without a good reason, as I have to wade through all the cookie acceptance bumf every time I visit .

2. Zero adverts thanks to my ad blocker.

3. No nosey XXXXXXX following me round the internet.

Of course, this won't work with "passkeys", due to they have to give you a tracker, which will follow you round the internet and doubtlessly give "big brother" all the saleable data they can extract from your every bowl movement.

Hence the day I am required to use this system will be the day i stop logging into google's "essential" TM "services" TM, which frankly I am not missing in the slightest up until now (3 months and counting.).

Here's an idea:

1. Fly to handily located asteroid made out of gold.platinum etc. - Like that one NASA is going to.

2. Move it back to earth geostationary orbit (Carefully). This might take a while. You could move it with a solar sail or ion drive or similar i suppose.

3. Sell some gold/ platinum.

4. Build your solar array on the asteroid and beam the power back to earth.

5. Watch your $$$ accumulating.

Over to elon now...

The silicon goldrush is coming, but chip demand is evaporating

I don't think your analysis is correct. There is a much longer-term pent up supply shortage situation in the market that will take longer to resolve.

I am a broker of used semiconductor manufacturing equipment and I run an on-line marketplace at www.fabsurplus.com. In order to correct the equipment shortage for low end and legacy microelectronic products like power electronics and automotive, either the fabs making the devices need to switch to 300 mm wafers, or else the equipment makers need to start investing serious money in making updated versions of 200 mm equipment. This is going to take a while. Until then, we're going to continue to see 10x price increases for the equipment used to make legacy products. IMHO, that is going to continue to sustain the price of legacy products as long as the demand for them remains high. NB If anyone has 200 mm equipment for sale, I'd sure like to hear from you !!!
