So in the old world, you are on holidays, drop your phone and it breaks. You go to a shop, buy a new one, login to it with user and password and setup everything else.

I am using a setup at home with a KVM switch so I can either connect the work laptop via a docking station, or any of my home desktops running Windows and Linux, and share stuff like keyboard, mouse, headset, printer, etc. across the lot.

I am missing the basic open source VM solution KVM, it misses of course the super management tools that VMware offers, but it is free.
