Not one commercial product came out of that one.

When it comes to the biggest technology bust it is the Farmer growing corn for Ethanol. It costs more in diesel fuel energy than the energy created by Ethanol. On the order of 70,000 BTUs per gallon. It has cost taxpayers billion to subsidize these fat cat corn farmers. Quite pathetic.

Now ware here with Biden, another peanut-brained politician who is going to make the USA the centre of the semiconductor world with $52 Billion taxpayer dollars.

NASA sees our space future as both government and privately run

Recently CHINER has demonstrated prowess in landing a spacecraft on the opposite side of the moon, devised a system to mine the moon and having a space station using ion engines. When Trump got wind of this, his pea brain concluded that the US had to get to the moon again and then go to Mars. This is the way a clown ass thinks and why Trump presided over 6 bankruptcies. Trump prides himself as having never read a single book cover to cover. Fabulous. If Trump had read some science fiction, he may have grasped some of the simple physics which make giant ROCKET SHIPs obsolete.

At 4.1 Billion USD a pop, not including the billions in development costs, this NASA rocket is an utter waste of resources and this mission is mindless. Three crash dummies are in the capsule. Not robots, not vehicles, not drones... DUMMIES IN SPACE... THE APEX of the TRUMP MIND... well other than injecting bleach in the lungs and tossing NUKES at hurricanes.

To a great extent, the rest of the world has been excluded from this NASA scheme. It is now shaping up like NATO. The US is Broke and wants a contribution and for that, they will send your robot toys into orbit.

CHINER has a different approach. In a very short period of time, they have their own space station which they keep expanding. They are using and testing ION engines on this space station. If you want to visit other planets, you are going to need ion engines. You are going to need a spacecraft assembled in earth's orbit that can travel to distant planets.

The math is elementary. It costs a lot to get heavy things off the earth and into orbit. When you turn the Space Shuttle, and Rockets into the Good Ship Diversity Lollypop, they accomplish nothing. You need a commercial purpose to fund this. That is why the Chinese have devised a system of orbiters that send landers to the moon to gather rocks and then dispatch them to earth. A Space Station around the moon could accomplish this commercial work. The rocks could be sent to earth's orbit or to the earth's space station for processing back to earth. The spacecraft used to ferry astronauts to the space station could be used to ferry moon rock back to earth for sale on Alibaba.

My point is there must be a commercial purpose to fund this. NASA wants to make all the decisions. So that once again means politicians, the intellectual bottom rung, calling the shots. No wonder Europe is not on board with this nonsense. Meanwhile, US math and science scores keep dropping.

US Semiconductor sales have been on a 3% a year downslope for 20 years. OBAMER blocked INTEL chip sales to China for a Supercomputer they were building. You owned China with that one. 15 months later China was making their own high-speed RISC chips and went on to build the fastest SuperComputer in the world. Well, that worked out well. And that is also why INTEL missed the entire handheld revolution. Nobody was going to use INTEL for fear of US sanctions. China reads you like a book sir.

Look at the great US fab push. Only 5% of the global semiconductor market is narrow gated. China is focused on 95% of the market at 14nm and larger. Yet at the same time, they are developing and making some of the most interesting narrow gate semis in the world. They aren't stopping. They are not afraid of you.

Taiwan's largest trader is the mainland. Korea's largest trader is China, and Japan's largest trader is China. Europe is a 17% trader with China. And you are spouting off about China isolating? Last I looked it was the US trying to get Europe to block China Trade, block China buying technology.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of a cheap cell phone. It keeps you in communication and you can text while your drive. But paying $2500 for a smartphone is moronic. Thanks to the US blockage of tech and Trump's attempt to destroy Huawei and SMIC, China has realized that cellphones should be treated like dumb terminals and the heavy lifting accomplished by network capacity. So the only thing that really matters is the throughput bandwidths. This also applies to smart self-driving cars.

5G is only about phones if you are Trump or Biden. 5G is about network capacity and that is a function of the number of supercomputers connected to the data centres. The Murican view is to push cell phones to the point of being handheld computers. But, they don't talk to your computers. They have poor interconnection. Sure Apps can control your house lights but your bloody home computer can't unless you reinvent the wheel.

Nobody in their right mind wants to toat around a $2500 smartphone which they will drop or misplace or have stolen from them.

In the US and UK, 5G is not even 5G... the telco service providers have next to zero real network capacity. They are bare-bones switches. So there is ZERO need for a 5G phone. This puts into question where is the technology going if all it is, is vanity phones. The first thing to drop out in a recession is UNNECESSARY vanity hardware. And yes, I put the entire field of electric cars into that same unmade bed of pure vanity. The more the Gov pushes this nonsense, the more I realize it is all a very bad idea.

Sorry but the Government got you here and they are not going to be pulling you out of the ditch with more gov spending.

At this point, the US has made Taiwan Semiconductor a flash point. In an effort to control TSMC the US has left no doubt it would destroy TSMC if it were not to abide the will of the US Gov.

"A 2021 US Army journal paper even suggested if Taiwan was threatened by China, it should credibly threaten to destroy TSMC to force the Middle Kingdom to reconsider." A US General went further and said Taiwan should destroy TSMC, if attacked by China.

To appease its US Master, TSMC is building the LARGEST FAB PLANT EVER in Phoenix AZ. Brookings Institution, a US think tank wrote, that the cost of producing chips in the US was 50% higher than that in Taiwan. TSMC is learning that the cost of building a factory is also 30% higher than expected. Further, they can't find employees. Intel who is building three or four bigger plants has gotten to the workplace before TSMC. So TSMC isn't sure they can get a workforce to their new plants. also said TSMC’s way of management in Taiwan might not work in the US.

The US grand plan is to have roughly 30 fab plants in the USA. Each plant will be fabricating chips at over 50% more than the cost of Taiwan and Korea. Where is the market for these expensive fab chips? How will these 30 gov subsidized fab plants stay in business?

And a bigger question is what happens to Taiwan when the USA becomes the "epicentere" of the global FAB business? Well, the US won't need Taiwan or Korea at that point. In fact, if the US fabs offer massive salaries and make even more expensive FAB chips, they can lure the expertise from Tawain and Korea leaving Taiwan and Korea out in the rain.

At that point the US will have no more use of Taiwan. THE US plan will have effectively destroyed ASIA and the US will become the greatest high-tech manufacturing centre the "World has ever known."

The stumbling block for all the Chip Fab is ASML. This company only produces a handful of EUV machines a year and just owning one does not conclude they are used properly. They are a very primitive devices requiring enormous manpower inputs. Understand also the few EUV machines only function in the narrow gated arena which is just 5% of the global semiconductor market. So the US emphasis on narrow gated chips is misplaced.

Narrow gated chips are more temperature sensitive and subject to leakage so yields are lower. So chasing this is a bust. China is already making its own 28nm lithography. China can make 7nm chips today.... So where will China be in five years when the US Fab plants are projected to come online to take over the world? China will likely meet its target of 80% self-sufficiency in five years and they will likely have EUV by then as well or developed carbon-based wafers. China will play the long game and Murians will as usual sell their chickens long before they buy the eggs.

Combined, they will account for fully 73 percent of all fab equipment spending in 2022. In 2021 and at present 53% of the global wafer market. This is another instance of the US trying to close the horse in the barn after they have already escaped. And as you may know, China controls 95% of the PV global business. The US is trying to Nancy Kerrigan kneecap everyone they can including Korea, Japan, and of course China.

What the US fails to understand in its Made in Murica subsidies is that American manufacturing is so costly and so inefficient they have no export markets. This idea of subsidies and trying to kneecap competition will never work. South Korea is not going to allow itself to become the next snivelling Japan. While Japan certainly has interesting technologies, Japan is under the thumb of the US and is being destroyed. Once the world leader in semiconductors, Japan is now off the radar screen due largely to their ally with standing Armies on Japanese soil, the Muricans. These standing Armies have been there since WWII.

So where is everyone in this grand US NANCY KERRIGAN KNEECAPPING SCHEME?

1) UK post Brexis is DOA... The entire country is flatlining and they know it. Chinese firms have been buying British Fab in fire sales.

2) Europe.. Aside from ASML, the landscape is barren. The Dutch Gov continues to slurp to the US destroying ASML China sales. This is at great risk to ASML's long-term survival. It is also disrupting ASML's supply chain. Other than that Europe is vanishing from the Semiconductor markets by allowing the US to control their exports.

3) Korea. Korea will ultimately do what it best for Korea. They don't want to be the next JAPAN. They are very concerned about the MADE in Murica rhetoric and do not see themselves as being part of that future. Though SAMSUNG sees the US market for smartphones as less competitive if the US continues to push against China phone makers.

4) China now has 7nm FAB and moving on 95% of the global Semiconductor Market. Already has massive wafer capability and is expanding it. Moving very rapidly across all fronts from raw materials to FAB and production equipment.

5) Taiwan China, has western coast Wafer plants now... protecting its own interest against the US. The US is a 12% trader with Taiwan. Microscopic next to China Mainland trade. Taiwan is not going to continue to risk long-term issues with the Mainland. ONCE TSCM is of no use to the USA, it is over for Taiwan and they know it.

6) Greater Asia is China-friendly.

The largest factor in favor of China is that the US presently has sanctions against 40% of the world population leaving China with a roughly 6.6 Billion person market that will want to buy China's technology unopposed by the US and its Sanction allies.
