China is focused on the 28nm and larger fab and as such has produced a record number of Chips this year and reduced global purchases substantially. More simply the Christ JOE scheme is backfiring. Not one US chip designer support Christ's and Joe's nutty plan. And where is the National Security in this? There is none. All this Murican garbage is because the US continues to lose global market share so they want to convince other countries to help prop up the tired old diversity stricken old man at the expense of destroying their own businesses.

China's Moon Mining is a better idea

LOST ON the back pages of the US Media.... China put an orbiter around the moon. It launched a mining vehicle to the moon which filled its body with lunar rocks then joined with the orbiter transferring the cargo. The orbiter then fired its rocket and headed back to earth, chock full of moon rocks.

This was the prototype. Miners and orbiters. The Miners can leave their rocks off at the orbiter, refuel and head back to the moon for more rocks. The CHINER plan can include a dozen orbiters and hundreds of miners. The orbiters BTW map the surface and target the miners where they want them.

The gravity of the moon is just 17% of the earth, Mars is 38% of the earth's gravity. The miners would need more fuel to rejoin the orbiter on Mars.

NASA's plan... the BILL NESLON, Deliverance Kid all growed up... plan is to have the ROVER be the miner then load a NASA Rocket with tubes of rock. Then the rocket takes off and heads to earth. In this SCHEME you have a few problems... Where do you land the rocket? NASA has yet to land a rocket in reverse which BEZOS and Musk seem to have accomplished. Musk landed a rocket on a floating barge. But they have never landed and taken off again.

The Rover must somehow load the glass tubes into the rocket. Depending on the orbits of the earth and Mars, the delay is 5 to 25 minutes roughly for radio signals. This could be made into a comedy as the Rover struggles to place the glass tubes into the rocket, breaking the glass tubes with each 10 minute adjustment until it finally manages to push the rocket over to the Mars surface.

Next when does the Rocket launch? God forbid the rover has its arm stuck in the door of the rocket. The Hohmann transfer orbits are synodic periods and for Mars to earth, the period is 780 days plus the 8 months trip back to earth. Round the whole mess off to three years. By then the ROVER batteries will be DEAD.

Yeah, the NASA plan is crazy but not crazy enough to work. For a handful of glass tubes, it is exactly what you might expect from the AMTRAK of SPACE, NASA. But is the plan crazy enough to stiff the Taxpayer? Sure, they will buy anything... just claim it is all for National Security.

Huawei doesn't need narrow gate components for its switches. They can get buy nicely with 28 nm. And just judging from the US being $400 billion behind in antenna systems, It will be years before the US actually gets anything close to 5G network capacity.

And for his Drydees debut, Gelsinger has punked with the Gov on FAB a low-margin business that is labour-intensive. The perfect type of industry to AVOID. It's the Diaper Business all over again.

Intel certainly has had help from the Federal Gov on destroying its market share. Obama Blocked Intel CPUs that were under Contract by a Chinese firm to build a Supercomputer. There were no secrets, the Chinese requested the chips for this purpose. Obama the great economic genius blocked the sale and 15 months later China was building their own powerful RISC Chips and won the honours of the fastest supercomputer. This effort by the gov to block intel led to INTEL missing the entire handheld market. Asia did not want to be dependent on Intel that politicians controlled.

Then Intel failed at 5G chips, failed at 10nm fab [oh but they are not going to lead the world with 2nm Fab out of Ohio!]. One fail after another but plenty of buybacks. Then Intel Board picks this born-again nut job who has all his focus on FAB while the Intel business units pitch into the sea. Narrow Gated Fab is easily handled by two companies, TSMC and Samsung. Nothing is changing in Asia. Asians who make the electronics and assemble the consumer and server products do not want US components that could be blocked or come under political pressure by US Politicians.

Look at Trump. He was so stupid he didn't know that Android was open-source. Blocking Android only harmed Google's special services. Meanwhile, Huawei developed Android Harmony and replaced all the Google Services with Chinese Domestic Services. Trump was an uninformed idiot. Intel is pitching into the sea. The incredible stupidity of the INTEL CEO to enter FAB where Intel has already failed at 10nm, in Ohio of all places, where independent cost estimates say Intel's fab will cost 300% more than Asian Fab, is selling Drydees at 3x the cost of Pampers. The math doesn't work.

Intel wants to compete with NVIDIA for GPUs, a business already being blocked by Dumb US Politicians. What is the net result? Chinese Biren Technology has a BR100 that compares very favourably with the NVIDIA line. Biden banning US GPUs only harms NVIDIA and INTEL's pretend future business. Intel will not catch NVIDIA and Biren Technology has free access to the giant Asian markets and it's just a startup and only four or five years old. NVIDIA needs to leave the US to save itself from US Political ruin.

Gelsinger is Intel's "Ginni" Rometty. The Board can wait until GINNI GELSINGER destroys the company or they can get rid of him fast. 4) China is focused on chips of 14 nm and greater gate size. That is 95% of the market. And they are in fact reducing foreign dependence.

5) China's approach to repackaging will allow math coprocessors to blow past narrow gate processors. Remember the more narrow the gate the greater the noise from ambient Heat. Moore unfortunately wasn't a physicist.

6) Blocking sales to the largest global buyer only destroys your own semiconductor seller.

7) Teck has a very short shelf life, like bananas in a broken-down refrigerator car in Needles California. If you are not in the game you are GONE from the game.

8) Semiconductor account for just 1.2% of the US GDP. Why does that matter. Well if the US becomes irksome, China can hit the US hard in ways that can destroy the US GDP. Example Chemicals. Chemicals are 25% of the US GDP. China is gobbling up global Chemical companies and now has 60% global market share heading to 90%. A big chunk is at the US expense. But of the US has Gov help with OSHA, EPA, and Litigation like ROUNDUP. China manufacturing is big and they can hurt you Murica. Joe Bide is a Mosquito, China can raise prices by 5% and send the US into a recession.

9) China gets 7nm in half the time Murican experts claimed. This has always been the trend when China has been backed against the wall. I can give example after example where the US has pushed China into self-reliance and a short time later was pushing for global market share. China is committed to RISC-V. Meanwhile, ARM is suing its biggest US customer Qualcomm.

So what is it that China needs to tip the US semiconductor industry out by the tonsils? Simple. Lithography or some other new technology. That's it. China has all the other raw materials and substrates it needs. That only holds China back from 5nm or less. 5% of the market. But but but... Korea's largest customer is China and Taiwan's largest trading partner is Mainland China. Europe is feeling the same pinch. As CEO of ASML said, China will have an EUV device in 5 years or less, then Europe gets blown out along with Korea, Taiwan and the US. Forcing China to be self-reliant will destroy the largest buyer market in the world. In spite of all the USA grandiosity, the projection calls for a continued shrinkage of US semiconductor industry of 3% a year. That in the face of the ANTI-INFLATION BILL, oh excuse me the CHIPS ACT. Same difference, none of it will work.

This has been done before. The Gov wasted billion on solar cells in the US to be "independent from Chiner... net result, China owns 95% of the global market. Batteries are the same. Obama paid billions to companies to build battery plants. Not one battery was produced and today China owns 90% of the global battery market. The government picking winners is AMTRAK. A bottomless pit of inefficiency and future debt.

One other important point. UK, US, EU are heading into a debt bomb inflation recession. It has never failed that during a recession China has always grown faster than the US and the great periods of catch-up were recessions because China's less expensive goods are in high demand in global recessions. Joe Biden doesn't want to sell US technology but he has to buy Chinese animal feeds and Chinese fertilizers just to eat.

One other item I point out frequently is that Semiconductors in the US are only 1.2% of the GDP. Chemicals are 25% of the US GDP. CHINER now has 60% of the Global Market in Chemicals and growing toward 90%. China makes 1000 Metric Tonnes of Steel. 96% of all hand tools, electric tools and machine tools. CHINER is dominating. All the JOE TRUMP fuss is over 1.2% of the GDP. This is INSANITY and virtually guarantees the US will lose the entire semiconductor industry to CHINERS in five years.

If you can't sell semiconductor globally, then you cannot stay in business. In just three short years Huawei has basically redesigned all the US Chip technology out of its products. The semiconductor line in the sand is so arbitrary and stupid, it defies belief. In say five years, China will have 80 to 90% self-sufficiency in chips of 14nm or more. That is 95% of the global market for semiconductors. What are US politicians focused on? The 5% market is already controlled by Korea and Taiwan. And Korea and Taiwan's largest customer is CHINER. How does this make any Mathematical sense whatsoever?

Further, it is entirely likely that new fab technology will disrupt this insane US PLAN. Carbon-based semis or Lithography substitutes are in development.
