I still have a 5+ year old build running whatever it was back then, as the print/scan server for my Epson A3 printer and similar scanner. Epson's Linux drivers, such as they are, broke on newer builds and the 3rd-party supplier (quaintly refereed to as "Linux" by the Epson "support" disaster), never updated them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
