According the Chatgpt, the Soviets launched 52 bears into space.

The problem is how you lead it, and the fact that it's training data is the Internet, where most of the info is false. If AI developers were not so lazy and only used factually correct training data, it might be OK. But vetting the training data would take more effort than developing the AI does.
