The CDDL is incompatible with the GPL, and Sun chose that so that RedHat and others could not ship ZFS on Linux to compete with Solaris back in the day.
That you seem to think "I found source code on the Internet, so I can paste it into my project" probably invalidates most thoughts you might have on the subject of software licenses, of course.
