The first thing I did after my new (other Korean brand) washing machine finished it's first load was to find out (RTFM) how to shut the fucking thing up.
LG must think they'll be able to sell an upgrade (or even a subscription) that would allow the owner to shut it up.
Or the might try to spew advertisements, just like some TVs do
