It's (all the) stories like this that for me instantly recall Edison insisting that AC was dangerous and that (his) DC should be the standard power supply running into every domestic residential home --and how close a thing that was due to him being such a dedicated and active public parasite-- which always trigger a quick cold chill flicker over me for what (the risks/costs of) ordinary life could have been like today, in terms of loss of life.
