What ? The US Government approves a data cable with China ?!?
So, links with Beijing are not so bad after all, are they now ? Of course, data means money, and the US Gov is never going to get in the way of American companies making money.
Huawei hardware is Chinese companies making money - that was not acceptable. Fiber cable with China is American companies making money, so that is acceptable.
Never mind that no hardware spy stuff has ever been proven, and that this cable is literally a superhighway for Chinese hackers into US territory, it's the money that counts.
Security ? Only if there's no money to lose.
