To the bemusement of my colleagues at a Prominent German Linux Vendor a few years ago, it's been my go-to console editor for years now. Less cognitive friction when working in the terminal or over `ssh`.

Yes, there are vaguely CUA-like modes for Emacs and Vim, but only in a GUI, not at the console. And at any rate, IMHO Tilde is a lot more CUA-compliant than Emacs with `cua-mode` installed, and about 1% of the size.
