I've had this argument on the SQLite front before too...
I created a (very successful) bit of software than used SQlite as an underlying read-only datastore. If you made a change to the source of truth (the config file) the entire store was blown away and recreated.
Along comes a dev - you should be using an ORM with that
Fucking why? It's not a database, it's a data-store that uses a DB format for convenient.
