This isn't to with HP. HP are suing in the UK.
This is down to US prosecutors thinking as usual that they have jurisdiction over the entire planet. Actually probably the universe.
And don't forget of course that should a US citizen commit an offence anywhere else in the world that the US authorities think that only US law should apply to them.
