Redundancy. You really don't want to be building all your products in one country especially when that one country is claimed by China. Nuclear weapons are currently the only reason we don't have a major war and all it takes is one country to get one up on that and that's it. China does seem to be getting very cocky lately which may or may not have something to with their recent missile test reported in the news but claimed as a space mission. Who knows.
