Electric Dreams

The "green" ramblings of the easily brainwashed: As discordant as those of the "Cancel Culture." Reminds one of the hippie nonsense of the 60s and 70s. We really should smother more of our youth.

Here is a taste-of-reality parable: While someone with more money than sense waits 26 hours to recharge his Rivian, the Taliban will drive by in a gas-fueled Toyota pickup and chop his head off. I hope that the fumes (bodily and engine) won't spoil his surprise.

Like true clueless brats, the self-righteous greens love to spend others' money and have no concept of cost and scale, including the hundreds of billions (and by completion, trillion plus) required just to retrofit major cities for "fast" (there's a lie!), ubiquitous charging. Meanwhile, during those decades of delays, bridges are rusting out and collapsing; potholes are left unattended; and "government is evil," privately mismanaged power grids are rotting and left open to the Internet.

Without remedied infrastructure -- requiring the hundreds of billions that you want to squander to fulfill your fantasy -- your underpowered, subsidized clown cars will look even more ridiculous.

In spite of pols' promises, without significant leaps in technological innovation (and we aren't even close), EVs will always be on the fringe: Fleets (for self-serving PR) and oddball (and likely European) communities.

As for the latter, Europeans' time and money would be better spent examining and eliminating Europe's crippling dependency on natural gas from Russia. You are Putin's toy, and he is laughing at your "Smartcar."
