I had the same kind of experience (twice) with Agile projects in IT.
As long as you need only to deploy the result of your sprint to servers, you are mostly fine.
As soon as you need to deploy the result to the end-users computers, then you run into troubles because you have lots of external constraints to take into account .
One of the most important being; don't disturb the users when they are working, they are the ones bringing in the money!
