Biden and Harris earned each other's mutual respect, however guarded. Not necessarily a bad thing if they aren't exactly of the same opinions: Pence has been Trump's most loyal servant. That didn't work out too great for Trump, Pence or the USA.
What the world needs isn't uniformity of political opinion: it needs people of different political opinions to be able to work together. We're starting to see what happens when at least one side progresses from "oh, we think we'd do a much better job than them" to "they are an existential threat to our nation"
