Honestly, without a workload that demands an x86-64, I wonder if there is any point staying with one. For low usage like internet browsing, I am pretty sure we are entering the age of ARM laptop/desktops which will be cheaper and serve those purposes with much lower power draw. Heck a phone or tablet does this just fine. While PC games are still far off, the ARM based (nvidia Tegra) Nintendo Switch does show future potential on the gaming front too.
And I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we see the same from RISC-V either.
