If AMD has always been playing catch-up, why did Intel licence x86-64 from AMD?
Whilst I would admit Bulldozer was a misstep, I've yet to see any evidence of incompatibility with software and AMD Ryzen/Threadripper/Epyc chips (for the record I'm running a Ryzen on my desktop and haven't come across anything that hasn't worked yet).
Though I'd always be interested to see if you have any sources for remark.
