Executive 1 texted Executive 2: “...If you are ever going to take her down..now is the time.”

'Take her down' unequivocally means kill her.

Executive 2 appears to have interpreted "take her down" as 'be mean to her and make her cry'.

Evil masterminds of evil organisations should be clear and explicit in their introductions.
