It is a useful perspective. However, as another blind programmer, I can't say I agree. On tabs versus spaces, I have set my speech software to report indentation with differently-pitched tones. The higher the pitch, the more indented is that line. This works with equal usefulness on lines with spaces, and I use those exclusively. On line length, I actually prefer my lines longer. The reason for this is that both speech and braille output are single-line only. In order to check what the previous line is, I have to move up, read it, and move back down. Having a complex expression split across eight lines does not help me because I may have to scroll up and down to keep track of it. Not that I see that very often, but I'm all in favor of disposing of the length limit. I think it comes down to different preferences, even for people using similar uncommon tools.
