As for assuming this is aimed purely at the registers usual British readers, I'm pretty confident this is not for them. The site does get its occasional infiltrators from other news agencies or even cited in court rooms and I'm pretty sure it was spelled out before the first US of A based lawsuit was aimed at them or FOX news tried quoting it as fact.
Don't forget, sarcasm is often missed by those with an agenda and taking irony seriously has lead to things like scientology becoming a thing so sometimes it's better to assume the reader is abit lacking and spell things out.
