spoken by someone who cannot possibly have done any work within NHS IT dept's :o(

I was there for the XP fiasco, they had years of warning, and yet STILL had two MILLION devices on XP come the end ..................

altering it to LINUX, is NOT going to help at all, the users within the system have come to understand / cope with Windows and even [ especially ] those users who are extra special have some ability within the MS world too, asking them to throw it all away and 'just go to LINUX' is not helpful, as it doesn't allow for the training of the users, let alone the entire IT dept's, from Service Desk to Sys Admin, they will all require some form of consistent training, still need to get ALL apps re-written to fit within LINUX too, and all of a sudden the 'free' part of the whole equation doesn't seem quite so good an idea
