Cummings' big plan to let the virus run through the population and bugger the consequences got kicked into touch the moment the Italian deathtoll started climbing.
Boris subsequently shat himself, did a quick 180 and then put a spending package in place that the Corbynista couldn't even begin to dream of.
Interesting times.
Actually what the country needs now, to keep a lid on this, is a likeable character with good media skillz and the ability to lie through their back teeth on air without flinching. And Boris is the ideal man for the job.
