One thing that could be said is that Office/VBA has had a damn good lifespan. I.e software that was written back then, still can mostly function now. The only other language that seems to offer that is C.

I wonder when the final bullet will be fired and Microsoft replaces the VB6/VBA component with .NET?

Or will it? Thinking about it now, I can actually see VB6/VBA outliving the .NET platform!
