Load shedding?

In response to this drop, Hornsea One and Little Barford disconnected from the grid to protect their equipment.

Wasn't that sort of reaction also a cause of the big US east coat blackout years ago? Aren't managed grids supposed to shed load in such circumstances, not self-disconnect generating capacity (which will only make the situation worse)?
