Oh c'mon, NetworkMangler would be a right pain to use on a server with complex routing, but laptops tend to have a very simple networking config - just connect to wifi and pick up an IP. NetworkManager does that quite well. Maybe there's a VPN in there, but the VPN software usually manages that stuff itself.
