This major internet routing blunder took A WEEK to fix. Why so long? It was IPv6 – and no one really noticed

This actually impacted quite a lot

route-views>sh bgp ipv6 unicast 2400::/12 longer-prefixes | i /

* 2400:0:500::/40 2001:1860::223 0 101 101 174 4766 i

* 2400:C0::/28 2001:1860::223 0 101 101 174 4766 i

* 2400:144::/48 2001:1860::223 0 101 101 174 4766 i

* 2400:181::/64 2605:8200::18 0 19653 6461 4766 i

<lots omitted>

Trust me when I say this impacted thousands of prefixes. In fact, I suspect the reason it didn't cause issues is that a lot of transit's etc filtered it off.
