Right so even if the car had alerted the driver at T minus 1.3 seconds, there was no time to react, never mind stop.
Even if the "driver" had insufficient time to fully stop, being alerted and applying the brakes, that may have reduced the velocity of the crash, and possibly turned a fatality into an injury. Not optimal, but a better outcome. If impact is unavoidable, I'd rather be hit by a car going fifteen mph than forty.
