Thanks to big data they are putting together so much computing power that it wouldn't make a big change.
It could make a difference to the commercial model they follow. At present all that back end compute is for analytics, data storage, data serving. Perhaps if it changes they may not be able to extract revenue, for example the profitability of analytics maybe substantially reduced. No money, no service, no matter how much compute they've currently got piled up.
