I've seen plenty of cowboys attempt to sell that it was cheaper. And a cowboy director who believed this. Then a consultant came in after a few other cowboy consultants that tried to go along with the director that it was cheaper, just because they wanted to milk the company for money. Then this new consultant finally got them to see "It's not cheaper, it's actually a hell of a lot more expensive". Then she left shortly after :(
This is the problem. To many cowboy consultants and to many directors willing to believe them.
