Which is why when I bought a car with all that crap in it the computer and all associated bets were removed and replaced with real parts even if it did mean making them - example, fuel injection removed and replaced with an inlet manifold and twin carbs. All the other junk and sensors were dumped as well and I ended up with better mileage per litre and much better emissions figures at the last CT test, the guys at the test station did a little head scratching when they couldn't find anywhere to plug their equipment in though.
