The Neo is also needed if you want to authenticate on an Android device

I'd have thought an Android device with a secure element (for NFC payments, for example), ought in principle to be able to act as a 2FA token (though clearly not for accessing services on the same device) itself. Wonder why Google aren't going down that route?
